How do I install a serial number?

There are a number of ways of installing serial numbers.

eSellerate

Normally, when you use the register dialog to purchase a license through eSellerate, it installs a serial number correctly.

Register Dialog

If you are reinstalling the driver and the serial numbers have been removed, you can click the register dialog when it comes up and enter the serial number there.

Camera Identifier

If you are using Webcam 1.1 or later, or a newer version of the still camera driver, you can get access to the register dialog. Simply select an attached camera via the popup menu and click the register button. Then you can enter the serial number.

By Hand

Sometimes, the older versions of our drivers fail to install the serial number in the right location. This has been corrected in Webcam 1.1, 802.11 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 for OS X, and the latest versions of the still camera driver. If none of the above directions works, file a support request and we'll send you directions and update this page.

The serial numbers are stored in simple text files called device key files. They are located in the directory:

   /Library/Application Support/IOXperts/Device Keys
